We have a blog... Finally!

After relentless encouragement from family and friends, we have finally gotten around to creating our blog. We like to think that our blog has been delayed for such a long time because of the awesome and busy summer that we have had.

After our wedding we went on a wicked awesome super fun honeymoon to Walt Disney World. It was the best! The weather in Orlando was perfect, and we could not have asked for a more perfect trip. As soon as we checked into our hotel (which was actually on the resort), we were given pins that said "Just Married." The lady at the front desk told us to wear them because we never knew "when something magical might happen." It was a lot of fun and we were caught up in the Disney atmosphere. As a result of the pins, by the end of our trip we were given several free fastpasses, four free cookies, and free ice cream. It was great. More than anything else, though, we loved being able to spend all of that time together. What could be better than a trip to Disneyworld with your best friend?

After our honeymoon we spent a couple of weeks back in Utah. We spent a week settling into our new apartment, which definitely took some getting used to. It's funny how many things you don't notice about a place until you actually move in. Once we had all of our furniture in place and all of our stuff in order, it began to feel a lot more like home.

We didn't have much time to think about the responsibilities of newlywed life, though. Before we knew it, we were on our way to North Carolina to spend a week on the Clegg family's annual trip to Holden Beach. We loved everything about the trip, other than our 4-hour layover in the Denver airport. Blah. We did, however, really appreciate the opporunity to spend the week with our family in such a beautiful place. We both love the beach, and we spent our fair share of time in the sand. Kylea got a great tan, while Eric enjoyed hiding from the violent sun under an umbrella. We are still trying to find a way for his fair skin and ultraviolet rays to get along. We loved everything about the trip, and we reminisce frequently. Thanks again to Kylea's parents for letting us tag along. We love you.

At the end of our trip to North Carolina, we boarded a plane to start our third trip of the Summer. Yes, we do realize that our lives are terribly difficult. We flew through Cincinnati to Cancun, Mexico to spend a week with the Jensen family. As you may have guessed, we had an awesome time in Mexico as well. We spent time on the beach, when deep-sea fishing, toured ancient Mayan ruins, and took a fun trip on a catamaran in the Mexican Caribbean. It was a great experience to be with this part of our family for a week in paradise, and wish we could go back. Thank you to Eric's parents letting us come. We loved it, and we love you.

And so, here we are. Back in Logan, our home for the next couple of years. The rest of our Summer will consist of work and preparing for school to start in the Fall. We will also do our best to live in our apartment which, as we have come to find, does not have air conditioning. Trust us, it gets blistering around 7:00 at night. In spite of heat, however, we are loving our new life together. There is a lot of work to be done, many classes to take, and plenty of experiences to have. But we know that no matter what happens, things will always be better when we're together.

Oh my gosh, you have no idea how excited I am that you have a blog! It is so much fun and easier to keep in touch this way. If you need any help in the blog world let me know (although I know your mom blogs too). Very cute pic on the beach by the way and I love your tunes!

welcome to blogworld! I love your very cute blog name, photo, and music! (I need to figure out how to do that) - and I thought I was the only person in the world who listens to IzK..."white sandy beach.." It was so fun seeing you two at the beach! (and finally getting to meet you, Eric) I'm glad you had a good time hanging out with the 'fam' and hope nobody embarrassed you too much!
Love, Aunt K
